Hair restoration in Turkey

Turkey offers all five hair restoration procedures on Medbook's list: hair transplants with the FUE, DHI or FUT technique, beard and eyebrow transplants, hair transplant repair, non-surgical hair-loss treatment and scalp micropigmentation. It is the only destination that offers scalp micropigmentation through Medbook at the moment.

You will see in each offer which of Turkey's eight cities your treatment is in. An interpreter, a personal coordinator and aftercare are among the services there, alongside accommodation and transfers.

How a Medbook trip works

  1. Tell the assistant what you need treated, where you travel from and when.
  2. See the destinations that offer your treatment and choose where to ask.
  3. Receive offers with a price and dates.
  4. Confirm an offer and get a day-by-day travel roadmap.

What you can have done in Turkey

Hair transplants in Turkey are offered with three techniques: FUE, DHI and FUT. Beard and eyebrow transplants, hair transplant repair, non-surgical hair-loss treatment and scalp micropigmentation are procedures of their own, and you can choose more than one when you describe your case. Each procedure is explained in Medbook's guide to hair restoration, under Treatments.

If you are not sure which you need, choose "Not sure yet" under hair restoration. If you take medication for hair loss, mention it when the assistant asks about medications. Your case is reviewed by the clinic before any offer is made.

How the trip usually goes

Before you travel, photograph your hair in good light from the front, from above, from behind and from both sides. If you have had a transplant before, gather what you know about it, such as the year and the technique. In the online consultation, ask how many days the procedure takes, what you need to know about flying home soon after it, and when the clinic would like to be in touch once you are back.

Once you confirm an offer, your roadmap offers "Let Medbook plan everything", which covers flights, transfers and accommodation. You can also book the flight yourself and then add the transfer. In Turkey, an interpreter is arranged for your stay, and a personal coordinator looks after the practical side from the moment you land. How long you stay depends on the procedure, and your clinic confirms the dates in its offer. Aftercare can continue remotely once you are home; before you confirm an offer, check whether it includes follow-up.

Questions

Can I combine a hair transplant with scalp micropigmentation?

You can choose both when you describe your case, and Turkey is the only destination that offers both through Medbook. Whether they fit into one trip is for the clinic to decide, and it confirms in its offer what it can do and when.

Can I ask for repair of a transplant done elsewhere?

Yes. Hair transplant repair is a procedure of its own, offered in Turkey and South Korea. Write down what you know about the earlier transplant, and the clinic reviews your case before it makes an offer.

What does aftercare cover after a hair transplant?

Aftercare is among the services in Turkey and can continue remotely once you are home, but what it covers depends on the clinic. Ask in the online consultation before you travel, and check whether each offer includes follow-up.
