Health check-ups abroad
A health check-up on Medbook is a set of examinations and tests arranged as one programme. The area includes a full-body check-up, heart and brain screening, cancer screening, endoscopy and colonoscopy, and a women's health check-up.
Two countries offer health check-ups through Medbook: Turkey, in eight cities, and South Korea, in Seoul, Busan and Incheon. Both offer every check-up in the area; where they differ is the cities, the journey and the services arranged for you. This page explains what can be arranged, how the two destinations differ and what to gather before you travel.
You see a price only when a clinic makes you an offer.

How a Medbook trip works
- Tell the assistant what you need treated, where you travel from and when.
- See the destinations that offer your treatment and choose where to ask.
- Receive offers with a price and dates.
- Confirm an offer and get a day-by-day travel roadmap.
What Medbook can arrange
A full-body check-up combines examinations and tests of several parts of the body in one programme. Heart and brain screening, cancer screening and the women's health check-up are programmes of their own. In an endoscopy (gastroscopy) or a colonoscopy, a thin, flexible tube with a small camera is passed into the stomach or the bowel.
You can choose a check-up on its own or together with another treatment. If you would like a check-up but are not sure which kind, choose "Not sure yet" under health check-up when you describe your case. The clinic looks at the details of your case before it makes you an offer.
Choosing a destination
Turkey offers every check-up on Medbook's list, in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Adana, Bodrum, Bursa, Eskişehir and Kayseri. Every service on Medbook's list is arranged there: airport and clinic transfers, accommodation, an interpreter, a personal coordinator, visa support, an online consultation before you travel and aftercare.
South Korea offers every check-up on the list as well, in Seoul, Busan and Incheon. Accommodation and an online consultation before you travel are arranged there, while an interpreter, a personal coordinator and aftercare are not among the services. Think about language before you choose: the assistant asks which language you are most comfortable communicating in, and your answer is part of your request for offers.
Because both countries offer the same check-ups, you can ask both and compare the offers. Wherever you go, once you confirm an offer, your roadmap lets you book flights and transfers yourself or ask Medbook to arrange them.
Before you travel
Gather the results of recent tests and examinations, letters from your doctors about any conditions you have, and a list of the medications you take and any allergies. Write down any symptoms you would like the check-up to cover and any illnesses that run in your family. The assistant asks about chronic conditions, allergies and medications when you describe your case.
An online consultation before you travel is arranged in both countries. Questions worth asking there:
- Which examinations and tests does the programme include?
- Do any of the tests need fasting or other preparation?
- How many days does the programme take, and when will I receive the results?
- In which language will I receive the report?
When you compare offers, look at the dates and the length of the stay.
Questions
Do Turkey and South Korea offer the same check-ups?
Yes. Both offer every health check-up on Medbook's list. They differ in their cities and in the services arranged for you, which this page shows for each country.
Can I combine a check-up with another treatment?
Yes. You can choose several treatments when you describe your case, from this area and from others. Each destination in your results shows which of them it offers, and the clinic confirms in its offer what it can do and when.
Is there a check-up for women?
Yes. The women's health check-up is a programme of its own, offered in Turkey and South Korea. Women's health is also a separate treatment area on Medbook, with its own procedures.
Is an interpreter arranged?
In Turkey, yes: an interpreter is among the services arranged there. South Korea's services do not include one. The assistant asks which language you are most comfortable communicating in, and your answer is part of your request for offers.
