General surgery in Turkey
All seven general surgery procedures on Medbook's list are offered in Turkey, and only there: gallbladder removal and gallstones, hernia repair, reflux and hiatal hernia surgery, haemorrhoid treatment, colorectal surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and liver, pancreas and bile duct surgery.
Your operation takes place in one of Turkey's eight cities, and each offer shows which. Treatments from two other areas can go into the same request: weight-loss surgery, an area of its own that Medbook also offers only in Turkey, and endoscopy and colonoscopy, a health check-up programme that South Korea offers as well.
You see a price only when a clinic makes you an offer.

What you can have done in Turkey
Turkey's list runs from gallbladder removal, hernia repair and reflux and hiatal hernia surgery to haemorrhoid treatment and colorectal surgery, and also includes thyroid and parathyroid surgery and liver, pancreas and bile duct surgery. Medbook's guide to general surgery, under Treatments, explains what each procedure is.
If you are not sure which procedure you need, choose "Not sure yet" under general surgery, or type what your surgeon or doctor has told you. The assistant also asks about chronic conditions, with diabetes, hypertension and blood clotting issues among the choices, about allergies, with anaesthesia given as an example, and about the medications you take. The clinic studies these answers with the rest of your case before it makes you an offer.
How the trip usually goes
Medbook's guide to general surgery lists the records to gather before you travel. In the online consultation, ask whether the clinic in Turkey needs any of your records translated, and in which language it will write its own reports.
Once you confirm an offer, add your flight to your roadmap, booking it yourself or leaving it to Medbook, and then the transfer. In Turkey, transfers between the airport, your accommodation and the clinic are among the services, as are accommodation, an interpreter and a personal coordinator for your stay, and an invitation letter can be arranged if you need a visa. Your stay covers more than the day of the operation: the clinic typically sees you first, and you recover for a while before the flight home. How long each part takes depends on the operation, and your clinic confirms the dates in its offer. Aftercare can continue remotely after you return, and each offer shows whether follow-up is included, so compare that as well.
Questions
Can I have two procedures on the same trip?
You can choose more than one when you describe your case, for example hernia repair and gallbladder removal. Whether they fit into one trip, or even one operation, is for the clinic to decide after it has looked at your case, and it confirms in its offer what it can do and when.
Where do I mention a past reaction to anaesthesia?
When the assistant asks about allergies, choose "Yes — specify" and describe the reaction in your own words. Anaesthesia is one of the examples in that question. Mention it again in the online consultation before you travel.
How do I get from the airport to the clinic?
In Turkey, transfers between the airport, your accommodation and the clinic are among the services. Once you confirm an offer, you add your flight to your roadmap first, and the transfer follows it, matched to your arrival.
