Dental care in South Korea

South Korea offers most of the dental care on Medbook's list, in Seoul, Busan and Incheon. That covers dental implants, veneers, crowns and bridges, teeth whitening, braces and clear aligners, fillings and root canal treatment, gum treatment and teeth cleaning, and TMJ and teeth-grinding treatment.

All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants, tooth extraction and oral surgery, smile makeovers and dentures are not offered there through Medbook; Turkey offers them. This page explains what you can have done in South Korea and how a dental trip there usually goes.

How a Medbook trip works

  1. Tell the assistant what you need treated, where you travel from and when.
  2. See the destinations that offer your treatment and choose where to ask.
  3. Receive offers with a price and dates.
  4. Confirm an offer and get a day-by-day travel roadmap.

What you can have done in South Korea

The list in South Korea includes dental implants, crowns and bridges, veneers, teeth whitening, and braces and clear aligners. Everyday care is on it too: fillings and root canal treatment, gum treatment and teeth cleaning, and treatment for jaw joint (TMJ) problems and teeth grinding. Medbook's guide to dental care, under Treatments, explains what each procedure is.

When you choose dental care, the assistant also asks how many teeth need treatment. If you are not sure which procedure you need, choose "Not sure yet" under dental care. The clinic looks at the details of your case before it makes you an offer.

How the trip usually goes

How many trips a treatment needs and how long each stay is depend on the procedure, and your clinic confirms the plan and the dates in its offer. Before you travel, gather recent dental X-rays, such as a panoramic X-ray, and any 3D scan (CBCT) you have. In the online consultation, ask whether the clinic can plan the treatment from them or will take new ones, which materials it plans to use, and which follow-up checks your own dentist could do.

Once you confirm an offer, your roadmap lets you book your flight yourself or ask Medbook to arrange it, and then do the same for the transfer from the airport. Accommodation is arranged for you for the length of your stay, and each offer shows where your treatment takes place. An interpreter, a personal coordinator and aftercare are not among the services in South Korea, so when you compare offers, look at the dates, the length of the stay and whether follow-up is included.

Questions

Can I have All-on-4 or All-on-6 implants in South Korea?

Not through Medbook at the moment. South Korea offers dental implants, while All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants are offered in Turkey. If you are not sure which kind of implant treatment you need, choose "Not sure yet" under dental care.

Can I combine several dental treatments?

Yes. You can choose several treatments when you describe your case, for example implants and crowns, and each destination in your results shows which of them it offers. The clinic confirms in its offer what it can do and when.

Do I need to choose a city?

No. Each offer shows where your treatment takes place, so you can compare places as well as dates.
