How a Medbook trip works

  1. Tell the assistant what you need treated, where you travel from and when.
  2. See the destinations that offer your treatment and choose where to ask.
  3. Receive offers with a price and dates.
  4. Confirm an offer and get a day-by-day travel roadmap.

What you can have done in South Korea

In South Korea, you can ask for labiaplasty, for vaginal tightening and rejuvenation, or for incontinence and prolapse surgery. Medbook's guide to women's health, under Treatments, explains what each procedure is.

The women's health check-up belongs to the health check-up area and is offered in South Korea as well. You can choose it on its own or together with a procedure. If you are not sure which procedure you need, choose "Not sure yet" under women's health when you describe your case, or write in your own words what your doctor has told you. The assistant may also ask whether there is a possibility of pregnancy.

How the trip usually goes

Before you travel, gather your recent gynaecological records: examination reports, scans with their written reports, test results and letters from your doctor, together with notes on any earlier surgery in the pelvic area. In the online consultation, ask which tests the clinic needs before the treatment and how recent they should be, how long you should plan to stay, and whether the dates should take your menstrual cycle into account.

Once you confirm an offer, your roadmap lets you book your flight yourself or ask Medbook to arrange it, and then do the same for the transfer from the airport. Accommodation is arranged for you for the length of your stay, and each offer shows where your treatment takes place. How long you stay depends on the procedure, and your clinic confirms the dates in its offer. An interpreter and aftercare are not among the services in South Korea, so think about language before you go and check each offer for whether follow-up is included.

Questions

Is hysterectomy offered in South Korea?

Not through Medbook at the moment. Hysterectomy, fibroid and ovarian cyst treatment and endometriosis treatment are offered in Turkey. If you choose one of them when you describe your case, your results show the destinations that offer it.

Do clinics see my name and contact details?

Not when you ask for offers. Nothing is sent before you choose which destinations to ask, and the request sent to each destination describes your case without your name, e-mail address or phone number.

Is an interpreter arranged in South Korea?

No, an interpreter is not among the services in South Korea. The assistant asks which language you are most comfortable communicating in, and your answer is part of your request for offers.
